Film reviewer.. Kashmir files

Just saw Kashmir files. Extremely disturbing. I think everyone should see it. The most important line was about learning from the jews, not to let people forget the holocaust so that it won’t be repeated again. We conveniently forgot the horror of partition and the genocide in Bangladesh.
We see a deluge of films on the Jewish holocaust, and the genocide in rawanda, on the native Americans, Australian aborigines , Congo etc even on the Gujrat riots, but nothing that’s not painted over about partition or Bangladesh. Only one art house film on the 84 pogrom of Sikhs and for the first time anything at all on the genocide of pundits in Kashmir. It’s imagery and impact is powerful. It’s far from rhetoric and propaganda as the intelligencia has been condemning it for without seeing it. In fact it is quite restrained. It lets you hear both the narratives. It has carefully avoided sensationalism. Especially about the rapes. The need to punish the authorities and politicians who collude with terrorists is a must. But the political and government officials responsible for the Sikh massacre are still scot free so it may be too much to hope. The concluding imagery without dialog or music will continue to haunt me and all viewers.
